A Gift from God

Today started with a photo shoot on Fish Hoek beach with the Boyd family. For once, I got to be on the "shooting" end of the camera - with many instructions coming at me from "the master" on the other side of the lens! Being a photographer, you tend to take pics of everyone else and not many of yourself. (I was very happy to have sweet Chan there with her camera too, so the pressure wasn't all on me!)

I just have to say that my sister is incredible and the most selfless person I know. Her strength of character (a gift from God) and attitude towards her situation is amazing and she teaches me so much every day just through who she is. I have not once heard her moan or complain about her situation. She has not once gone into "self pity" mode or asked "why me?" Instead when someone asked her that recently, she simply replied "why not me?" She has not once shown anger or remorse towards the doctors who have misdiagnosed her condition for 18 months. Neither has she lost her incredible sense of humour. Yesterday we attended Rachelle's baby shower and she was the centre of the jokes and puns flying around the room, making everyone laugh in typical Nix-style.

Please could we ask you to pray for peace and clarity for Adrian and Nikki concerning the decisions they need to make regarding her treatment over the next few days. That God would guide them with His peace in these things.

Isaiah 41:13 - "For I AM the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, "Do not fear, I will help you. Do not be afraid..."

Psalm 103:3 - "He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases."

Exodus 15:2 "I AM the God who heals you."

    2 scriptures came up in our quiet time this morning. We are in Zechariah! Zec 2:8,Israel (Nikki) is the apple of the Lord's eye and he will not let her be harmed and the other in Chapter 3:? 'Its not by might, nor by power but by my Spirit says the Lord.' You are in my thoughts about 3-4 times an hour! One of us can put a 1000 to flight and 2 of us can send the legions fleeing!
